  4. Okay, I tried the crossword today. Very entertaining, I’m looking forward to more!

    Clues I liked most: 13A, 14A, 3D, 9D, 24D. The little ones at 6A, 25A and 26D were clever too.

    I don’t get the wordplay entirely for 27A: ‘The likes of Warne’ is SPINNERS I think, and the answer SPINSTERS – how?

    • Thank you for trying out the grid and commenting.

      27 A should be dubbed the wrong ‘un in this grid because either the definition or the number of letters or both didn’t read right until now.

      Explanation – One of the definition of Spinster is “A person whose occupation is spinning.”. The question mark indicates a devious reading of the word. Thus Spin-sters = spinners = The likes of Warne.
